The process T-OXI ® is a superficial thermochemical treatment aimed at casting industry of light alloys. It is a combined process of oxidation in plasma nitriding potential-controlled and optimized in order to create a zone of diffusion completely devoid of nitrides precipitates at grain edge, with a cortical area 1-3 μm thick stable iron oxide Fe3O4 (magnetite), which provides a chemically inert barrier, useful to effectively combat corruption phenomena known as Washout.
