Selective laser sintering (SLS) uses a laser to sintering powder based materials, layer by layer, until it forms a solid model. The system consists of a laser, a Chamber and a control system. The room consists of a platform, a powder cartridge and a leveling roller. A thin layer of material is distributed on the platform where the laser draws the portion of its is along the x-axis that along the y-axis, sintering the material. The platform is lowered to a height equal to the thickness of the layer and the leveling roller pushes the material out of the cartridge dust on the platform where the next section is sintered onto the previous one. This continues until the part is complete. Once the model is completed it is removed from the Chamber and finished removing excess material and smoothing visible surfaces
